Iran vows support for Syria

Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi has vowed that the Islamic Republic will always stand beside the Muslim country of Syria.
“Iran and Syria are two inseparable countries and allies, and Iran will stand by its friend and Muslim [neighboring] country, Syria, under all circumstance,” Rahimi said in a meeting with Syrian Oil Minister Sufian Allaw on Sunday.
Referring to the recent unrest in Syria, Rahimi said, “These events were guided by arrogant powers and the meddling of the enemies is quite obvious in these incidents.”
Rahimi described the Western propaganda against Syria as a method to wage psychological war, adding that western countries use their allies in order to mount pressure on Syria.
The Iranian official added that the plots and movements of arrogant powers in the Middle East, however, have failed.
Allaw, for his part, expressed gratitude for Iran's support for the Syrian government and nation.
The Syrian minister also called for the strengthening of bilateral ties and expansion of cooperation between Syria and Iran in every field.
